Slash Out/ Spikers battle playable with 3 button setup?

I have a 2 player cp, each player 6 buttons but only 3 work in slashout, so I am probably missing cables. What do I need to get button 4,5 and 6 working and who can supply me with that?

fixed; Craig helped me out - wiring in plug was wrong (factory mistake.. go figure! :smt012 )...

I just got a Slashout cart and i'm so happy with it.

I have a 3 button layout and Slashout need 4.

I'll upgrade my stuff asap so i can enjoy it, but meanwhile i would like to know what is the ingame effect of the SHIFT button.

And if it can be done by pressing other buttons simultaneosly ( but i think not)
