My mate has got a net dimm and so do I, but when mine boots up, it says Naomi Network System on the splash screen, and my mates says Naomi GD-ROM System on it.

Also, mine has a subtitling of VxWorks in the BIOS menu and his doesn't. How come?

VxWorks is networking..

One is a net dimm, the other is a 1.02 regular dimm

With Network enabled it will display Network system. With network disabled it will display GD-Rom system.
