Questions about regions

Hi, I'm new here. I just got my Naomi today, with MvsC2.
I was thinking of getting a copy of Gunspike on Ebay, but was worried since the manual and screenshot have Japanese on it. Would a Japanese version work with my system? Can I set the language? Is there even a difference in systems and games for different parts of the world?
