Do you buy the GD rom or cart when you have the option?

Post by OldFoo »

I was just curious as to what most people prefer.

Some games (as you know) are available on GD rom as well as on cart.

Since they're the same game, it's just personal preference I guess.

I was curious as to what most people prefer, as I have a game in both formats, and was looking to figure out which one to sell.

Thanks,

Steve

Moved thread, as it may get lost/ignored in Sales

I prefer the rom version. No loading time and it's easier and faster to change games.

I would take the cart version. I would love to have a cart version of Virtua Tennis 2 & Virtua Fighter 4 Final Tuned. I have yet to see those anywhere. :smt020

Depends,

The carts swap faster and load quicker.

(but you can also damage pins if you are not careful when swapping)

The GD-ROMs store easier.

Load times for GD are SLOWWWWWW

(unless you do not swap games and leave the power to the DIMM on)

If it was not for the stinkin sec IC I would have all GD games.

It also depends how often you swap games.

If you swap game multilple times during a session cart all the way.

On the other hand, if you only swap games every couple of weeks GD might be better.

Each have their distinct advantages and disadvantages

P.S. In general the cart version ussually sells for about %25-%35 more than the GD-ROM version

Cart ! ! !

...because of the "PCB-playing-feeling". GD-Roms feel much more like a Playstation game with memorycard.
