Central heating pipes vs Cabs

Post by OldFoo »

Some time ago I've read on a forum that putting your cab close/next to central heating pipes is not a good thing for your cabinet. Is there any truth in that?

I'm asking because I plan to move my cabs to a room that has these pipes al along the wall at ground level. During winter they get very warm.

I'd hate to damage my cabs.

thanks.

so besides paint damage or cabs changing colour there is no actual technical damage to boards or monitors right?

should not cause any damage to anything else unless your pipes go to 300 degrees c

I guess if you have any wood in your cab, putting it near a source of dry heat might cause it to shrink, warp or delaminate/crack too.
