Post by OldFoo »

Well, title says it all.

Can I link two Naomi cabinets and get four players? Like I

think PowerStone can do(or not :) )

Thanks,

I'm not sure yet, but this is what I think. Please correct me if I'm wrong this is all just guestimation going here :D

Virtua Tennis 1 has a Tournament option.

And you can set it to 4 players.

I think what this does is start 2X 1vs1 player tournament on 2 machines.

p1 vs p2

p3 vs p4

If p2 wins from p1 and p3 wins from p4. the final will be p2 vs p3.

No info in the manual whatsoever. :smt006

If there is an actual 4 player double mode on Naomi, I'm getting another uni real soon :smt008

request for stickies or faqs on linking cabinets, multiplayer >2 person games. Even tournament modes.

Actually, what needs to be known is that Virtua Tennis is not considered a 'linkable' game. Linkable games actually require extra communication hardware and multiple Naomis to link 2 or more cabinets into network play. Games such as Initial D, Biohazard and Heavy Metal are true linkable games and have additional configuration menus to setup link play. Games like Virtua Fighter, Virtua Tennis and Beach Spikers are not true linkable games. When you see 2 cabinets on these types of games, the video is split between 2 monitors and player 2 controls are wired to the player 1's system; no extra Naomi required.

I would doubt Virtua Tennis 1 supports daisy chained JVS I/O boards need for cabinet linking

I believe cabinet linking was done in G Bios where you can do 2 players on 2 cabinets, by each cabinet having there own JVS I/O.

In competion mode on VT, I'd expect it to be a take turns things on a single cabinet.
