Turn Model 3 Blast City into Naomi???

Post by OldFoo »

I just got a blast city cab that has the model 3 wiring board still in it with all its wiring. It even comes with a jamma cable that connects to that board. I am going to run a xxxx-in-1 jamma board on it but would also be interested in running a naomi board on it with marvel vs capcom 2. Does anyone know what I would need to do this???

Blast's are a really nice cab. Some PICS of the setup/wiring that you currently have would help to know what you need 100%.

but the following has the part number for what you would need if its a stock bass fishing (model 3 board harness) setup:

That cable is in my cab hooked to the board inside. It is EXACTLY that cable that you have listed on that thread. Also, does anyone know what I would need to do to wire up button 4 as the unit has a 4b control panel but the cables that come with it seem to be only for 3. I am assuming I need a new 1p and 2p loom. I have also already ordered a loom for buttons 5, and 6.

Well then you should be good to run any JVS (naomi board) or Jamma(your XX-in one), etc.

Standard Jamma is 3 button per player, so to wire up more you will need to either run a kick harness, or another harness directly to the buttons or thru the option connector (its inside the control panel beside the other control connectors and it runs to a 8 or 10 pin connector on the Model3 I/O board, I would have to look at mine to tell you the exact connector, but if you have a digital multimeter you can check where it runs with that.

hi,

@neofrank

can you please make a photo of the connector for buttons 4-6 on the model 3 board inside the blast city?

i have connected the naomi extra button loom to the connector between the player 1 and 2 connectors, but the buttons dont work.

Hey batman, I got my loom and discovered the same thing. Seems the 1p and 2p looms while not wired for more buttons on the panel side, are wired inside the cab for buttons 4 and 5 directly to the board inside. I have confirmed this by just inserting a wire into the empty harness slots and running it to a button with a ground, instant button 4 and 5. Kinda sucks though as I bought the harness for nothing now and cant find a hole saw that's 30 mm here in usa at any hardware stores to add some extra button holes.

That is a post on this topic, has a good pic of the i/o board where you can connect a kick harness.
