Sega System 2 to Jamma for a 2C CRX board

Post by OldFoo »

I have a Top Skater board and I actually have the guts of a system 2 Virtua Cop as well. I have seen a few of these System 2 to Jamma Harnesses around and it would be an easy way to use these games.

Are they ok to use?

I saw on another forum that "Sega Shed" mentioned that you have to crank the 5v. I am not too overly worried about that since I would not use the cabinet for anything else and would probably put some warning labels in there incase I did want to switch it back to standard Jamma.

Other then the 5v issue is there anything wrong with these harnesses?

Model 2 stuff is medium resolution, so you'd need to address that issue as well.

I do have an exta medium resolution monitor laying around. Actually 2 but one of them has never seemed to work great.

I bought a board from a seller on ebay Canada that converts the medium resolution to vga. That way I can power up the boards on a test rig and troubleshoot them and see whats going on without having to put them back into the cabinet.

I guess you could also make up a 'model 2/3 supergun' using it as well.
