Flakey Guilty Gear X Cart?

I have a guilty gear x cart that requires you clear the eprom memory and backup memory when switching carts or else it just gives an error message. Is there anything to fix this or is it just a flakey cart that i'll have to live with? I didn't think i would like the game as much as i do, so i'd like to fix it if possible, if not i'll just live with it or replace it if i get the chance. Any help is appreciated.

Every time a game is switched on the Naomi system, the 'memory' is cleared. Most games do this automatically, but some need it to be done manually. This is not a malfunction, but a lack of programming by the developer (usually 3rd party). GGX is one of those games.
