yeah i think i understand you...

but.. i find it. Very very complicated for nothing i really thought that it was a plug & play interface.....

it's much trouble.

because this means i change the aspect of the cabinet itself.

like i need a second Psu . ect.

I need to configure inside the cabinet.

This also means I would need to dedicate 1 cabinet to this naomi system if i start to tweak everything

I Thought i recall seeing someone Having a naomi inside a new astro city

i really would like to see how he did it.

Did you ever think about using something different? For example converting an ATX PSU? This way you get +12V and +5V and +3.3V for Naomi and also the -5V you need for the Jamma boards.

I think some compromise has to be made to use the naomi in your astro, if you still want to be able to play jamma games.

And if you don't want to use the transformator + audio power amp, you might look for options like PC speaker systems or Car HiFi audio amps. PC speakers have the advantage that they easily connect and if you spend some $ you get a subwoofer with it for extra kicks, car hifi equipment connects to 12V, so you could run it directly from a PC PSU (just make sure you have enough watt and esp. enough ampere and it's own fuse!) Personally I prefer 2.1 PC speaker systems over car hifi stuff, since they are easy to connect - most subwoofers also are magnetically shielded, while almost none car hifi sub is. If you find them not powerful enough, try the Logitech Z-2300 and you won't believe it!

You have to think about something anyway, to be able to swap between unamped naomi Audio and amped (mono in most cases) audio from jamma boards. Perhaps you have to wire some sort of connector to the jamma edge connector so you can plug unplug the speakers from the system when playing jamma and plugging them into the jamma harness with it's connectors.

Just some ideas and my two cents here... ; )

P.S.

You definetly need to find yourself an avatar pic and fill out your profile, I did this myself to disguise the n00b that I really am ; )

Thanks i just did...

yeah about using a ATX PSU.... yah i could Do that.....

i could also Use some Old Arcade power supply i think i got the Exact same connections With (Y) endings that would connect to that.....

But i think it would SUCK to have to Tweak such a cabinet just to be able to play a Naomi system....

Grrrrr

I need to find a Way.

Maybe they did some power supply meant to be used Like the Astro city one.

Why use an ATX supply, when you have the best PSU available IMO for the job, the SUN PSU.

Your setup in the picture is fine. All you would need to do is attach the I/O to the JAMMA connector, the Amp to some speakers & power the PSU & your cracked.

Instead of wiring a plug to the PSU, you could wire it directly into your cab. You could even wire in a switch so the PSU isn't on when the Naomi isn't in there.

Modding cabs is not a quick & easy job. You need to plan the location of everything, and decide how often you will be using the additional parts.

If you're only gonna play Naomi for the foreseable future, then hardwire in the SUN, if not, then attach a plug, and maybe hardwire a socket into the cab, so you can just plug it in when needed.

Oh, the Green wires need to be connected to something metal, so it conducts the flow back to ground.

the psu i got there i think it's the original naomi system one.... i think...:S

it doesn't have a 3 pin prong at the end it has a special molex that connects to my other naomi cables that ive received....

I will try to find a way to clip those green wires to a metal part inside the cab.

hehe.

where could i buy a Sun one if it's easyer using that one?:)

thanks for the info

I don't think this was made clear in the previous posts. The grey psu that came with your system is a Sun psu.
