I know I've seen Daytona 1 stand-up around here in the states. Unless I can find a Japanese style, that may be the best way to go. Again, for the time being I do have the wheel and gas/brake assmblies. I just wanted to see what I needed to do to test the whole setup and attempt to play it as a temporary setup until I get get a more reasonable sized cab.

In the UK, we had most Model 2 and 3 in UR driving cabs, Scud Race and Rally 2 where both UR.

I've myself converted a few STC UR (Sega Touring) to Daytona 2.

What you could do, is buy a cheap Daytona UR (They exist over in the USA), and swap out the wiring and game boards..

Suprised you can't fit it through the door, surely the thing stripped right down should fit. :smt017

Thanks for the tip Andy, it looks like I'm going to go the Upright route. As for my cab, my friend and I tried twice. We took the door off, and it was like 2 inches too big. I stripped out the control panel, took off the plastic sides, everything. To be honest, I think I'd rather have an upright anyway. I have a tiny apartment, and my D2 woulda taken up WAY too much space. Still, I didn't wanna waste it. Anyway, if I kept all of the wiring (which I did, everything except the coin-box stuff), will it be too difficult converting from a Model 2 driver? Will I need to use my old wheel/shifter/pedals?

Did you remove the monitor from the monitor cabinet and the actual monitor cabinet from the base. That is what I had to do.

(just in case your still wanting to try...)
