OK. I have no real clue :smt017 on cabinet linking so here goes.

I've got

TWO NOAMI 1 MB w/ EPR - 21576G

TWO 837-13489 LINK BOARDS

TWO OPTICAL CABLES

Now for the Silly questions :smt102

Do I need a two cartraiges, one for each MB, or can I just use one cartriage and 'slave' the second cabinet?

If I do need two cartraiges the only set of cartraiges I have two of are Virtua Tennis 1. Does VT1 support Cabinet Linking?

If I do need two cartraiges what other games support cabinet linking?

Can GD-ROM games be link via link kit or do they need .net DIMM?

Any guidance or a URL to a .pdf manual on cabinet linking much appreciated :smt025

Thanks and Regards

From what i know,

You need 2 carts & Vt1 doesnt supports cab linking.

Linkable games:

Spawn

Slash Out

Spikers Battle

Outtrigger

vf4

The 2 gundams

Thanks Gilles,

I was thinking I was going to have to bump this. :smt026

It also looked like

Sega Naomi WWF Royal Rumble was based on this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 6289587596

Looks like two Naomi Systems, Two Monitors, Two Control Panels in one Cabinet. :smt017

Ive got a couple of the titles in the list. :)

And I just puchased a second NAOMI 2 with VF4 so I have 2 of those. :smt023

Looks like a might have too borrow or pickup a couple duplicats to check out some of the others.

If NE1 knows of any other titles LMK. :smt006

Too bad VT1 is not because It would be really cool if each player could play in 1st person. :smt019

Thanks again and Regards

In the linkable games I've tried, you usually have to set a 'node' number to each game. The master (player 1) would be 1 and the slave (player 2) would be 2, and so on. I'm not sure if all linkable games are this way, but it makes sense that each has a seperate identity. :smt109

Royal Rumble just uses another I/O board daisy chained for Player 3/4.

Linking regular Naomi games is just like linking Model 2/3 games. You just the network board, tos link cable and setup one game to be master the second one to be slave.

For these games like VF4 Evo and co, I think they are just one mainboard, but the VGA and I/O is split between 2 cabs.

Here's an interesting linking question:

I have 2 Gundam vs. Zeon (not DX) with comm. boards. One is a cart, the other a GD-ROM. I have run both formats and they look exactly the same on screen. I attempted to link them, but all I got was a timeout error. Can I link these games despite they are on different formats? Do both need to be run on the same hardware (2 Naomi1 or 2). Perhaps I'm missing sonething in the setup? Any help would be appreciated. :smt100

Generally you have to run the exact same firm ware version and versions of the game. :)

I've only linked Model 2, 3 and Chihiro.

Not done Naomi yet, as I don't own 2 copys of F355 to link. :smt005
