GD-ROM PSU question
GD-ROM PSU question
Hello. I have a GD-Rom system for my Naomi 2, but so far I've been playing cart games with a Capcom I/O, so I didn't need an additional power supply. What kind of PSU can I use to power the GD-Rom, and can someone tell me what each pin on the drive is for? I'm only gonna need to wire the PSU for the GD-Rom...I figure there's no need to go any further since I've got the I/O board. I've got a Final Tuned I'm just dying to play. Thanks in advance.
You need no second psu. The GD runs on +5 and +12. Just hook it up like this:
1. +12
2. +12
3. +5
4. +5
5. GND
6 .GND
You don't need all the cables, on the original gd-harness there's one 5, one 12 and both gnds. That is the same way I've been running mine and it works just fine.
If you're looking at your gd unit and reading the naomi label on top from the right direction the pins are counted in reverse order on the unit.
(starting with pin 6 from the left that is).
If you don't have 6-pin jst connectors you can use a 4-pin floppydisc power cable from an old pc. Just skip the outermost pins and connect it in the center of the units connector.
