shikigami no shiro 2 error A01 coin + error 22 ??? HEEELP!

Post by OldFoo »

there' s someone who can help me about this strange case???

The fact....

i tested 3 vertical shooter games on a naomi netcity cab....first ikaruga......perfect, the second trigger heart exelica......no problems all it's working perfectly, but the third title, shikigami no shiro 2 after the loading and the dimm check, starts with a black screen reporting "ERROR A01: COIN" after few seconds the naomi reboots and on the logo screen comes out the "ERROR 22" followed by "Communication error occurred between main board and option board"

after all this i rechecked again ikaruga but it works without probs

what's goin on with shikigami no shiro 2 ????

Please Help!!!

Thanx in advance

I get this too, it has something to do with the Rev A Sega I/O board.

Rev. A had a bunch of issues and is the reason why they released ver. B and stopped using ver. A. So, you should get an updated I/O to eliminate these issues with this and other games. ;)

I've had this problem on multiple I/O boards with Shikigami 2 and Rev. A and Rev. B made no difference at all. My US Naomi Uni cab has never been able to run it right, it boots up with this error each time and I cannot prevent it. It runs great on a Capcom I/O but I've never gotten it to boot.

I was told it needs to see 2 coin counters, but I doubt this. I cannot confirm it as wrong because my cabinet only has one.

OK! i'm finally able to play it, i simply moved the game on a nao

unicab instead to use the nao netcity but with naomi 2 this time, it runs immediately....

.....i was wondering....

inside a naomi unicab or netcity there's not I/O boards cause both are JVS.... for I/O board i mean the jamma converter....sega or capcom....

i would like to understand wich kind of I/O board you was talkin....

maybe you are talkin about the little board under the screen where ends

the USB connection?

really i would like to understand better cause i got a little confusion about I/O.......thanx.....

I'm sorry, I was quite confusing...

I could never get this game to run on a JVS I/O board in my Uni with one coin counter, the I/O board with no JAMMA connector. It was suggested that I get two counters and try it, but I never had the opportunity.

I run the game on a Capcom I/O successfully.

I am having the same problem,

I had a similar problem with choco maker

Made a spoofed coin counter and choco maker worked but shikigami no shiro 2 does not

The way I got choco maker was to make a spoofed coin counter

I am planning on spoofing coin counter 2 this weekend using the same method as in the choco maker solution for spoofing coin counter 1 described in the following thread

Spoofing coin counter 2 worked :D

Shikigami no Shiro 2 up and running where I was getting exact same symptoms as decribed at beggining of post

My System

Naomi 2

JVS I/O

So Shiki needs either:

1) cabinet with two proper coin counters

2) two coin counters spoofed using resistor method provided by Geezer
