Hello, everybody.
I have a GD-ROM drive that is not working because I inadvertently connected the wrong power supply to it. I was told that there are repair kits to repair this type of problem. If so, where I can find them? If not, how I can repair my GD-ROM? I'd appreciate any assistance in the matter. Thank you.

most likely the damage is on the servo board BUT if it the earlier 610-0617 model then you can swap out the entire unit as provided by mr geezer

Well, according to Danox574, what I did was send the 5V voltage line where the 12V needs to go and sent the 12V voltage line where the 5V needs to go.

I'd safely say that is toast, you would have taken out the power dist board on the GD-ROM drive, maybe a few SMT Ic's as well.
Not econimical to repair.

yeah under feeding is nothing hurting, but overfeeding means toast... you are up for a new drive... check ebay for another one, or ask Andy or I depending on your location, we both have spare drives
