Virtua Fighter 2 (model 2) cabinet

Post by OldFoo »

Hi there!

I got a VF2 cabinet. Great! And I would like to attach a computer in order to use mame with this cabinet.

The hardware inside is a model 2 (no jamma connector) and I would like to use my computer with J-Pac, is this posible?

Is there a way to convert j-Pac into this kind of cabinet connectors.

This seems to be my cabinet pineouts:

I found this adapter:

but what I need is just the oposite. This connector is used to connect a Model 2 PCB with a jamma cabinet but what I want is an adaptor from a jamma PCB into a model 2 cabinet.

The model 2 system is a medium resolution game (496x384, I think) which is below what Windows will run (minimum 640x480). I don't think a pc will connect to this type of monitor easily.

You can run MAME on Standard Res/Medium Res monitors, and the easiest way is to use the Arcade VGA Card to allow an easy sync to the monitor, although from personal experience I prefer a Standard Res monitors over a Med Res. as for the JAMMA hookup, the one thing that is missing from the connectors is 12v etc, its only running 5v, you could cut and splice a new JAMMA harness from the wires you have now that will basically convert the cabinet into a JAMMA cabinet, but you would need to add 12v to the harness, but for the low cost of getting a JAMMA harness and cutting and joining, it will be best in the long run, also would allow you to play Medium Res JAMMA games, like MACE, Blitz
