Sega-Naomi

Hi there.



Just got a naomi mobo with some games i bought.

I have this error 22 (that is supposed to appear when there is a communication problem between the mobo and the dimm board) showing up BUT it appears when i boot with only a rom game in it. No dimm board or anything else connected.



I enter test mode, and the game is recognized as unknown. Booting with no rom inserted gives the same error code. I checked with another mobo to be sure cables were ok and it worked so, cables cant be the cause.



Anyone seen this already ?

Error's 20-25 are purely related to dimm boards.



Something is very wrong with you Naomi mainboard if you get it without any cart installed, I'd say a corrupt BIOS or corrupt back-up ram.

The mobo test said everything was 'good'.



Going to check it with another bios.

I once posted that I got this error when the Naomi did not communicate with the I/O. Check it here--->Weird Error 22. :smt115

yup saw this post.



but its not cable related as i tried with another mobo in the same cab and it was working fine.



I removed the bios and it felt like it was not firmly socketed since it came out pretty easily. Anyway, i changed for another bios and ... no more error 22 .. but an annoying error 01 that wont go away ... hmm cant see any bent pin ... Still investigating ...

Looks like the good ol bad IC29 RAM error.

Nope. All rams are good.
