Hi all,
This is my first post as new to the site.
May have just got my first Naomi Cab. Comes with naomi 1 with GD-rom.
My questions.
1) should I upgrade to Naomi 2
2) Is it expensive and difficult
3) The cab is a 2p 2button. is it possible to change this to a 2p 6button panel and if so how difficult would it be.
thx all in advance.

Hi there! And welcome to the forums!
1) When dealing with Naomi 1 games, upgrading to Naomi 2 will not yield any benefits. The only reason to upgrade is to run Naomi 2 games.
2) It's not difficult to do the upgrade. Both systems use the exact same connections.
3) Upgrading to 6 buttons should be as simple as changing the panel (remove a few screws). You might have to get the extra wiring harness if it didn't come with the cab.

Not much point upgrading unless you really want to play those Naomi 2 games. You might want to pick up one of
these wiring looms for those extra buttons on your cab, as joshua3dg mentioned above. You will only need this for games requiring 6 buttons per player, as the standard wiring looms should have enough inputs for 5 buttons I believe.
thanks

Standard wiring loom for Naomi is just 3 Buttons (& Start). Extra loom is for the other 3.

Really? I had buttons one through five wired up on each of my 1p and 2p looms :O I assumed that it was standard... How peculiar.

It was a UK Sports Jam and an ex-arcade VF4 with a 2l6b when I bought it!
Buttons 4&5 were just left un-attached in the bottom of the CP!
