Are these systems all JAMMA based systems...

I'm wondering if I had a JAMMA cabinet, would the following systems work with that cabinet, or not:

Hikaru

Naomi, Naomi GD rom, Naomi 2, Naomi GD rom (my assumption is that if one works, they would all work.)

Chihiro

Lindbergh

If not, why not.

My level of knowledge hasn't progressed since the Neo Geo MVS, I'm afraid, so I'm just trying to find out if dedicated cabinets are needed to enjoy these games at home, or if they can be played with a JAMMA cabinet.

(Also, are the Universal Naomi cabs JAMMA, or something else?)

Thanks,

Steve

These systems are actually JVS based, meaning they have a new standard for power, VGA output for video, and USB for controls. So no they are not Jamma, standard, but using a jamma i/o board you can run them in a jamma compatible cabinet (the i/o does conversion from vga, usb, and sometimes power to a jamma edge connector. You can see http://www.sega-naomi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1265 for a good explanation of i/o and including power requirments.[/url]

Hope this helps some.

Thanks - shows exactly how little I know about this stuff. :smt009

I'm almost thinking I need to buy a dedicated machine just to ensure that everything is wired correctly...

I run my NAOMI stuff off of the JAMMA wiring standard. The Englishman In Plant City was nice enough to send me a complete JVS wiring harness but I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to hook my standard controls up :smt009 The JAMMA route is way easier for me. :smt020
