Differences between Net City & Universal cabs?

Post by OldFoo »

I know there's a difference between the US and EUR/JAP Universal cabinets.

What I'm curious about, is what differences, if any, exist between the JP Net City and JP Universal cabinets.

There must be some difference.

Do they both have the Tri Sync monitors? Are the monitors in both cabs rotatible?

Is one easier to work with than the other?

I'm just wondering which cab would work for me, and without knowing what differences there are, it would be tough to pick one over the other.

They look very similar to me...

Thanks as always!

reading your posts i would suggest you look for a naomi uni cab,if you want a tri sync option then you can install replacement chassis

do yourself a favour and steer clear of chihiro

another option you have in the u.s is the sega blast city cab,tri sync monitors and seem to be common

you can buy jvs to jamma converters from various places

Thanks.

I'm actually not worried about the JAMMA part, as I have a cabinet I use for JAMMA games.

I was mostly just curious as to whether I'm stuck in the stone age, and if where things have progressed to these days. (Turns out I am, and they've progressed far enough that I'm not utterly clueless.)

I appreciate the input.

I am still curious, however, about any differences between the cabs.

Net City was the first to introduce the Naomi cab in a sit-down format, it was also available as an upright as well.

Only real difference is the net city artwork, and the fact it was installed with either a Naomi 1 or Naomi 2 with the Networking (cabinet link) bios installed.
