Naomi2 - I/O board error

Hello everybody... :smt006 I am new on this forum. I have to admit that I don't know much about arcade systems. I do know very much about pinball machines however. So if you have any questions about those... shoot ;)

I recently bought a naomi2 GD Rom system, with a game Virtua Fighter 4 in it. Since yesterday the system won't start anymore...

This is what happens :

I switch on the game.

The system starts loading and counts till 100%.

Than it starts checking memory till 100%.

Then it says (and here it goes wrong...) rebooting in 2 sec.

The screen turns black... the naomi2 bouncing image appears again...

Screen turns black again and then shows the message " I/O BD is not connected to naomi BD".

I cannot enter in test, I can do nothing...

Who can help me to solve this ??

Thanks,

Lieven

check the cord that connects your NAOMI board to the I/O it's probably loose. :smt020

Can anyone post a picture of this "I/O to naomi" connector ??

I checked all visible connectors and couldn't find any loose ones.

The 2 connectors necessary for the Naomi setup are:

1) The power connector (looks like a floppy drive power connector)

2) The USB connector from the I/O to the Naomi filter board (near the test button)

If either of these is disconnected, or the I/O is busted, then you will get this message.

All connectors seem to be ok and in position.

On the I/O board (behind the test buttons) I have 2 leds colored red. Is that ok ??

It's as if the GD ROM drive spins like crazy after he gave the reboot message, which appears for only 2sec. ... then the screen turns black and the I/O BD message appears.

The problems started simply when the game was in attract mode... so nobody pulled any wiring or cables ...

Please help ... :smt010
