Making a NAOMI PSU from a standard ATX PSU

I want to make a own Sega NAOMI PSU from a standard PC PSU. Some people over here already gave me some tips on the forum here, but I want to make sure I'm doing this the right way.

I have the PSU now, but I need the correct JST connector. Is this the only connector I need?: http://triplemoonstar.brinkster.net/seg ... ockid=1769

I have the following NAOMI setup: NAOMI1 Motherboard, Capcom I/O. That's it. I want to connect it in my New Astro City but the PSU in this cab is not producing enough power to power NAOMI well(4,9V, which results in all games to hang or crash just after startup).

So I want to add the separate PSU and disconnect the Capcom I/O power leads and use the Capcom I/O for everything else(controls, sound and VGA)

My plan is to disconnect the ATX plug from my PSU and connect a JST type B connector to the wires. Is this the way to go?

You need pins as well..

I would not remove the ATX plug, but simply get a female one (e.g. from a 24-20 pin atx converter cable). That way you can change the ATX power further down the road, without doing the job twice.

People tend to ignore you on requests for these. I have asked several times and either get ignored or excuses. I made one and I can't solder at all. I just used butt connectors. :smt020

I have one for sale in bundle with a GD-ROM power harness:

(it plugs into one of the 4-pin peripheral power cables of the ATX power supply)

So I just connect this to a standard 250W AOpen ATX PSU and everything will run smoothly?

How can I check the voltage on the PSU 4 pin connector with a Multimeter?

If you are testing for voltage, it's better to put your leads on something more accessible, like the other end of the harness (large connector).

You mean the ATX connector? Which normally connects to the PC motherboard?

No change to test on the 4pin connector?
