Just picked up a net ver. dimm module, I've setup the network settings, both in remote and non-remote with static ip. I'm not 100% sure how the networking works, can anyone explain?
I know it can connect to a pc, does this go through the fixed ip address or remote mode? Does remote mode expect to connect to a certain ip address, and does anyone know what it is / what port ?
What game comes with the software for the server?
Is the pc hardware sold with it is as well ?
Thanks
Fun with net dimm module, debug mode, remote & ip settin
Initial D does not communicate on the internet at all. Communication is done with comm boards and fiber optic cabling. When you finish a game, it gives you a code to write down and enter into a website for international ranking.
The RJ-45 (network) connector is rarely used and most games don't even use it with the exception of certain 'group play' games and Cycraft edition titles, which only communicates with the cabinet movement controls. As far as I know, the only game that communicates over the internet is VF4:Evo(not sure about other upgrades), and that was for ranking in Japan.
