BIOS Question (cart vs. GDROM)

Is there any reason that my Naomi 2 BIOS will play Virtua Striker 3 GDROM but gets the error "Not recognized by mainboard" when I use my Virtua Striker 3 cart?

It's difficult to be specific without the actual error code, but it may be a fault with the cart. Are you 100% sure that it works?

Cart is export bios only.

...so it turns out that I have a Naomi2 BIOS 23608A USA version and the cart does work...i guess that I just didn't have it down firmly enough. But even so ...it gave me the 'not compatible with mainboard error' when it wasn't seated correctly.
