Thanks for the answer grant!! Anti-drip? Never thought of that - always imagined it would be some sort of magnetic shielding given the speakers are so close to the screen.

LoL, okay if you pranked me, you got me. Just had the 50 Kilo monitor on one arm trying to fiddle in the plate with my free hand until I realized that the latch that goes out in front, prevents the monitor frame from insertion since there is not enough clearance - therefore it looks like the "drip plate" gets mounted AFTER you mount the monitor. Either this, or the Sanwa PFX frame is different from the Sanwa 29E31 (or whatever the original Naomi Uni monitor was called). Luckily I didn't break or scratch anything :phew:

Wouldn't consider myself that strong and I have to admit that I really surprised myself back there - but maybe it's true what they say - that you get superhuman powers when you have to protect your beloved ones (saving my Net City from scratches in this particular case) ; )

last time i tated a naomi i managed to get the monitor just into the cab and then the weight caused the cab to move and i just seemed to follow it around for 5 minutes until it jammed on the wall

Pro-tip, you don't actually need this in the cab at all. I've had quite a few Naomi Uni's and only one ever had one in. It's basically just a pain!

I prefer having it for now as I want to test some new speakers soon. They are unshielded by default, I'll try to shield them with a bucking magnet and a ferromagnetic top-cap but since this is my first attempt at shielding on my own, everything extra that goes between speakers and crt is welcome ; )
