Who can be bothered to take the CRT cover off and take pics?

Post by OldFoo »

Hey guys, I forgot to something big time when swapping monitors (which took months - I would have memorized it if it would have been done within a day ; )

Looked at the DJ_JohnnyG topic but didn't find THE answer.

Well, I just don't seem to be able to fit the wiring right when putting the CRT cover back on.

Therefore - ANYONE got pics of his Naomi Uni / Net City with the rear CRT cover off which reveals how the wiring should be fed to the front? I really hope that someone got such pics saved on his hdd, because I doubt anyone would be willing to unscrew the cover just to take pics ; )

Any help will be appreciated ; )

I might add some pics tonight, as my monitor cover is currently not attached. I'll try to do it asap but I also have to repaint my sides at my parents', so it won't be up too soon though.

Thanks in advance! I am not in a hurry so it's no problem. Just wondering... Painting the sides? You are not talking about the wooden US Naomi cabinet used for World Series Baseball, do you? ; )

Wait, what cab where YOU talking about in the first place ? Because I... Nah, just kidding, here are the pics. I uploaded them earlier than predicted, as the rain ruined my painting plans for tonight :

I pulled a little on the degauss wire which goes on the front panel. You can also see the remote board wiring, going to the front panel too.

This a shot of the front view. I placed the degauss wire so you can see it, but it usually fits with the other wires behind.

This is a close-up of the right leg, where the wires come from the base. The upper black wire is the light power, and the one on the bottom plugs onto the monitor chassis.

I'm not sure to have shown you what you wanted to see, so feel free to ask for more pics if you need too. I don't plan on putting it back together until next week.

I'm also not very familiar with taking my NUC appart and putting it together, so if someone more experienced sees something done wrong on my setup, let me know ;)

Replied to.

Say, if the cover is off anyway, do you have the chance to take some pics that show where the red-black wires from the degauss switch go to on the CRT chassis?

I'll post it tonight, but this time the weather should allow me to repaint my sides, so you'll really have to wait ;)

Anyway the degauss wires plug into the same connector as the power one. You can see it on the first pic.

Or, if i misunderstood the question, it plugs on the front to a 2 slots connector attached on the right of the IO assembly (same color). You can see it on the second pic.

EDIT : by the way, my girlfriend really liked the way you modified her paperwork, according to her the sentences are easier to read. Thanks a lot for your help.

Okay, I actually would need a pic to see where the degauss activation wire from the monitor connector goes to on the monitor. I got a US spec PFX and it has different connections with no direct degaus switch. I got an idea where the wire goes, but I am careful as I have no pinout or wiring diagram : )

Ok, I'll take the pic but my monitor is a sanwa 29E31S, I don't know if it will be of any help.

EDIT : I read on a french forum that to make the degauss work, you should just wire a button on the last two ends of the PFX connector (blue and brown on the following pic). Following the wires should indicate you where the degauss connects on the chassis.
