Monitors & Chassis

Hi All.

Right after reading lots of threads on monitors on various forums, I wonder if someone can straighten something out for me.

As far as I see it, an arcade monitor consists of 2 parts, the tube & the chassis (Video processing)

Can any chassis be used to drive any tube. I assume the tube & chassis have to be matched by size, i.e. a 20" chassis can drive a 20" tube, but not a 29" Tube.

Have I got this totally confused???

I have a shitty old hantarex monitor. The tube is in good condition, but the chassis is nasty. Can I buy a 2nd hand chassis & just swop them around???

I was reading about using a tri-res chassis on a non-tri res monitor tube (think on KC)

Cheers

John

Not that straight foward, CRT have different types of neck boards with different Impendence and resistance.

You can only swap a chassis if you know its 100% compatiable with the neck board and CRT.

Are there any resources for this?
