I'm not sure why you didn't find anything considering the GD/Dimm system is a constant topic. Have you used the search function at the top of this page?
Anyways, the things you should check would be the RAM and the GD drive daughterboard inside the module. You will have to remove the screws that keep the blue cover attached to the main board to check these. :smt024
hi yes i have done a serch some interesting topics, but nothing concerning how to fix a broken dimm,i have replaced the ram and the wee board inside the dimm the gdrom is fine but i have tested with anbother working one, have also tryed 3 dif naomi boards inc a naomi 2 all have gdrom compatable with gdrom drives.
what goes on these dim boards ,something must fail on them but noone seems to have actually fixed one on here that i could find either a new one or send to ken.
i think maybe if someone has any info on fixing these dim board a new thread should be started for reference.
I have one with an 22 error. I read a lot of post on this subject (dimm error) and so I tried to replug the small board. But I still have the smae error (error 22). So I am looking for any information in order to fix this dimm board.
Although there are any number of probable problems, the one cause I mostly hear about from Ken Westerfield and AndyGeezer are faults with 'memory buffers'. They either become loose or burn out. As for how these are fixed are beyond the ability of most of the the forum members here as we generally don't go to the component level of PCB boards.
I have a bunch of those chips sitting in a bin over here. I had to order them to fix a cart for a customer in Colorado and thought I'd order extras to have around.
prolly not worth the postage i live in new zealand by time you payed international shipping the parts and time to fix ,cheaper just to buy a working one.
