Sun power supply

Ok, I am still trying to get my naomi stuff to work, I found the parts I missed so now I will try to get the gd-rom working.

I don't have a power splitting cable so I need to get the power from another psu I guess. I have a regular psu in the cab that powers a naomi 1 motherboard but it doesn't come with the right connector for the gd rom drive.

I also have a sun psu so I was thinking of hooking the gd rom up to that.

Now, the psu comes with such a connector :

How can I plug that to the power?

Thanks.

If you don't have or can't find the connector for this, then you can do like many others by cutting off the connector and directly connect it to a cut power cord and either connect it straight to the wall or where the AC comes into your cab.

Doesn't sound like that bad an idea...

Shall I ground it with the other grounds in the cab then?

might not be applicable but the sun psu runs off 110v not 240v to get the gdrom to run you will need a spliter cable theres some one selling one with scsi cable on ebay.

as shown below.

Can't you just power it up from the PSU ? (I would give 110V to the PSU and it would give back 12 and 5V to the GD no?)

Just found the item you were refering to on ebay.

Thanks a lot.

with the spliter cable there is no need as it powers through the sun psu you will just need stepdown transformer to power the sun supply as its 110v. as if you ever look in a universal cab heres a wacking great transfomer that setps the cab down to 110v. same with my STV cab runs off 110v with 240v input.

i had the same issues when i was new to naomi stuff and trying to power a gdrom set up from my capcom i/o in the end i used the sun psu to power the system and the capcom i/o to control it on my jamma cab.
