Converting NAOMI Shooter to CHIHIRO Shooter
Posted: Sat May 22, 2010 9:29 pm
I just acquired a Chihiro Type 1 MoBo and DIMM
Interested in playing...
Ghost Squad
House Of The Dead 3
Virtua Cop 3
I already have a NAOMI shooter cab up and running and can play HODT2, CM, Lupin, MOTK
Hardware Configuration:
JVS I/O
Japaneses Wiring Looms for Analog and Digital
Sanwa Bezel w/ IR Cutouts
IR Sensor Array - Type II
GUN I/O Board - Type II
Red IR sensors covers
Type II guns
All documented here

First, Some basic questions
a) Are all connections the same for cabinet for Chihiro as NAOMI?
power - same connectors? same power supply requirements?
audio - just take RCA out into my NAOMI sound AMP?
video - just take VGA out to my monitor?
JVS I/O - USB conection same as NAOMI?
Type II Gun I/O Board - Can this be used with Chihiro setup?
Second, some more detailed questions on gun wiring/use/compatability
I saw this thread from geezer about Chihiro Guns
http://www.sega-naomi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2151
Common is the Am Arms 45Cal (Have these)
which is used on Lost World, HOTD2, Conf Mission, Lupin. (Up and running with these)
Maze uses a same style gun, but different housing, but Maze is a lot better with the 45Cal. (got this style housing also)
Need Some Additional Pointers on the following if anyone has any more info on how too use Type II guns to play HODT3, Ghost Squad, and Vitual Cop 3 in my NAOMI cabinet
1) HOTD3 uses a shotgun, although you can make it work with a 45Cal, buy making out of the screen on/off loop back to the reload (so you point outside the screen to reload).
Any more details on this?
2) Ghost Squad uses the Machine gun, with recoil. but you could use 45Cal guns and add buttons for action/select
will Virtual Cop Guns Work, they seem to have extra button?
how to do this with standard type II guns?
3) Virtua Cop 3 uses 45cal with button at the side and also a pedal (which is just a button), VCop3 and HOTD3 play suprisingly well on the GS guns.
How to use standard type II guns?
Any wiring advice for pedal?
Thanks
