I have a Virtua Tennis game that worked fine one day, the next I got the "Error 22" message. I noticed on this forum that someone else was able to change the USB cable to fix the problem. This did not work for me. Any other ideas?

Welcome to the forums! As with anything naomi, i would be double checking your power levels first. A communcation error (error 22?) can also be caused by the SCSI cable becoming loose or becoming warn. The Naomi uses a high density 50 pin SCSI cable, so finding a replacement shouldnt be too hard.



Other culprets for this problem are a failing gd lens unit. Luckily, they are fairly easy to replace if you have got a dreamcast lying around. Hope this helps.

To test the reader, try loading another game. If it works, then the problem is elsewhere. If loading another disc gives the same error, try a cart if you have one. That way, you eliminate the GD drive, cable, and dimm module as a problem.



Aside from that, sometimes there is a small board that becomes loose that is located underneath the polished metal plate on the dimm module. In the past, I've had to reseat this board to fix error 22.



Now that I think about what I've written, error 22 is pretty vague. Error codes are supposed to be more specific. :smt011
