Error 22 - World Series Baseball

Post by OldFoo »

I finally took the plunge and entered the Naomi world yesterday.

I have an error 22 board - I have tried re-seating the DIMM board (dimms and the other board), tried a new cable, and haven't had any luck.

The DIMM doesn't register in the test mode (it times out), the NAOMI screen comes up, but doesn't say GD ROM - just regular NAOMI - and the disk doesn't seem to spin at all. It seems to be hooked up properly - although I do question the power to the GD ROM disk unit itself. I have a dedicated sega setup - not Jamma - and there is a power cord that fits the GDROM disk drive that was not hooked up - however I have tried it hooked up as well as unhooked. From what research I could gather, it seems the DIMM should still test out and the spalsh screen should still show GD rom, even without the disk drive attached - so I'm guessing it is a problem with the DIMM, not the GD disk drive.

I'm assuiming my DIMM is bad, and plan to send it for repair. I just wanted to check and see if there is anything I could be missing or if anyone has any other suggestions.

Thanks!

If its error 22 without the gd rom splash, and you reseated and did that all then it s busted and better buy a new one.

easy pick up for around 30 euro's

Won a tested working DIMM board on ebay - hopefully I will have something to show for it later this week.

...hmm.. I vividly remember buying a net DIMM board from you a month or two ago that also has an error 22. You then denied that the board could be defective..

Since you sold the DIMM to me as 'untested', there is not much I can do other than ask this forum:

Is an error 22 repairable? Testing the DIMM in the TEST menu yields a timeout.

If someone has any info, it is greatly appreciated!
