Post by OldFoo »

Hello everibody ,

I work this week on donwgrade or ForceUpdate the Firmware of the dimm board and i found a possibility way to downgrade the firmware.

i test the force update 3.17 to 3.17 and it work , but i would test a downgrade 3.17 to 2.xx but i don't a .bin of firmware,

i search all firmware of dimm board to send by netboot !!!

It is possible to downgrade, you hold the test button down while powering on with a firm disc in there.

But, I don't know any reason why anybody would want to downgrade under 3.17

thank and i try this way this day !

sorry for my english , i'm french

Edit : i test this and doesn't work on dimm upgrade via Netboot !!!!

the unique way to force update is to modifie the version controle diretly in the .bin

The way to force a dimm upload in netboot is to change the version ID in the .bin file, so it thinks the current firm is out of date.

Easiest way on the 3.17 is to edit the bin so the new bin thinks it is installing 3.18

Only 3.03 or higher support net booting, once you downgrade to lower you will need a 3.03 or 3.17 install disc to enable net booting again, or manually flash the FPGA.
