Sega I/O V. 2 kick button pin out?

Post by OldFoo »

Does anyone have this available? I have looked around and can't find it. Will sort it out through trial and error if needed (and will post results here) but would rather not....

thanks!

You and me, both. I get people giving me the pin outs of the headers, but I'm assuming those aren't going to the right pins to the actual JVS itself. I hope someone has an answer, it's driving me nuts.

Well, I'll probably have to go the trial and error route, first attempt will be to mirror the pin out on the Blast City I/O, with any luck it will that easy.

I'll check the part number and post it later on as well, didn't think to google that....

Thanks!

i have two i/o versions here, and both have kick buttons, but "probeing" them is not a good idea.

if its a jamma version, and you have a blast city cab, you have to make a kick harness that plugs on the CN3 and hooks to butto 6, as the blast city jamma harness loom doesn't have those one button in it.

the jamma & cn3 pinouts for the 838-13683-02 version is here:

http://triplemoonstar.brinkster.net/the ... ockid=1854

pinout for 837-13551-92

http://triplemoonstar.brinkster.net/the ... ockid=1718

as for: 837-13844-02

From Mame's Naomi.C

CN8 - 40 pin connector (many pins unknown)

3-5 +5V

7-9 GND

13-14 Coin SW1/2

15 Test SW

17 1P Start SW

18 Service SW

19 Switch

20 Switch

21 Switch

22 Switch

23 Switch

24 Switch

25 2P Start

31 Switch

32 Switch

33-40 RX1-RX8

as the 837-13844-02 I/O was never used in a stick/button setup, i think its more of a board used in drivers?

different one entirely I'm afraid... this is more like the Capcom I/O, it's used for Naomi/Jamma as opposed to a Naomi cab I/O.

3. Sega Ver. 2 I/O Jamma Converter

http://www.sega-naomi.com/hardware.htm

I checked and the product number didn't bring up anything on google.

610-0598

The kick harness like a CPS2 kick harness appears to connect to EXT.I/O I managed to find a picture of this set up, can't find it now though of course, but it didn't seem possible to determine pin out from this.

I'll wire a connector from the Blast as seen in this link:

http://forum.arcadeotaku.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9038

to the Sega V.2 I/O. Trial and error should be pretty easy once I get the time to do it.

found the pic of this with a CPS2 kick harness attached.

so I should be able to sort this out, will post the results for future googlers.

So, I opened it up and found the actual part number on the board with the part that seems to be where the kick harness attaches to....

838-13683-01

Also it's a 14 pin connector.... Any ideas? Probably the same as the 02 one....?

Thanks!

The v2 is just a v1, an audio amp and a power converter in the same box so the pinout for the 14-pin connector is what you see in the "naomi wiring diagram" pdf.

So buttons 4 and 5 on jamma and 6 in the 14 pin? Will try and get this sorted tonight or tomorrow, should have some time.

The cab has e 001 loom, there are wires on the spots for buttons 4 and 5 but I guess they go no where cause for Rival Schools they don't register at all. Will splice those pins over to the IO that has all the kick buttons on the Blast along with button 6 on the 14 pin. Strange that Sega didn't make this easier....
