I do mean crimped, but that's why I asked how it was terminated, in the sense of ended, or finished. Anyway, that's what I mean- both how to crimp the pin onto the wire, and how th secure the pin in connector...

When I did my crimping I jused used some pliars laying about. I'd recomend you cut the wire longer, crimp down one side, flip the wire over and crimp down the other side, then squeeze harder to lock it in. It's kept the JST plugs on my wires fine and they don't want to come out. Saves paying shedloads for the tool.
