Sega-Naomi

Hi,



I finally received my first Naomi Cab today. Booting it I get the error message:



ERROR 26 Media board malfunctioning.



Thanks to google I found:

[CAUSE] KEY CHIP is not found.

[COUNTERMEASURES] Attach the proper KEY CHIP for the game. Insert the KEY CHIP securely.





It is a virtua striker 2. The Key Chip is inserted properly.



I bought a universal key chip for a net dimm. Should this be working with the Triforce Viruta Striker 2 gd rom? So that I can test if the Key Chip is broken or something else?





The gdrom sounds even more asthmatic, than I do. Can this also be the cause?

No such thing as universal keychip.



Also Virtua Striker 2?? I am sure you mean Virtua Striker 2002.

I have two things.



1) A real VS 2002 key, which gives the error.



2) And then I bought via ebay on of those "Sega Naomi Chihiro Triforce GD Netbooting Security Chip".





So 2) won't work with the VS 2002 GDrom, if I understood you right.





What can be the reason of the error 26, even though I have the correct key?

Well real key or not, it's dead..



Not sure if Striker 2002 has export/japan keychip (I think it is the same), but what is the serial?

The chip you bought is for net booting, typically for people who are not running legitimate GD roms. Legitimate GD-roms are going to need the right chip, so your's might be dead or mismatched.
