hi guys, i have a few screen problems with my neo geo machine. I am using a Jvs to jamma riverside adaptor and ecg to vga converter. Everything works but the picture is out of wack. I think that i am missing something or perhaps my ecg to vga converter doesnt work properly ? btw the ecg to vga converter lights up but i cannot access the starting menu with the button......
any suggestions, also do i need this part ?

ok problem solved picture and controls run perfectly, the problem was the power supply, i used a 5v phone charger and it worked like a charm. My next problem will be attaching an extra button for each player, if anyone has any ideas please share. The machine was running a sega naomi system so it has the sega i/o board........... Please some one correct me if i am wrong but neo geo uses 4 buttons maximum ?

I too have been toying with an ecg to vga convertor but my picture is completely Red. I can get the menu etc just fine. I'm using a Namco JVS adaptor not the Riverservice one though. Any pictures of your setup? I'd like to see how your jamma setup is wired to the convertor. I'm using one of those cheap ones from Jammaboards.com I assume that's the one your using too?
EDIT: To answer your question yes the Neo uses 4 buttons. Not sure how the Riverservice adaptor works but you souldn't have an issue with your fourth button working just fine as long as your wired under your control panel for the extra buttons.

The 4th button on neo geo motherboards is wired to the next pin after the first three buttons, so no need for a kick harness. Pins lowercase 'c' and 25 in this schematic;
