Its more needed for VF4:FT on Naomi 2 as its the only 1 that can be flashed upto 3.17.

Considering the Net dimm was around before VF:FT, there was no game that needed it?

Well the .net functions can't be used outside of Japan, but the non net can't be upgraded to 3.17.

To be more specific Initial D can connect to the .net functions in Japan as well as VF4:Evo onwards, outside of Japan the 3.17 is the only thing that matters, I don't think any games actually need it to work at all.

I have heard that initial D needs it, but never had the chance to test in person.

Nah. I have Initial D and it works fine with no Net dimm. Any stats are communicated with a passcode that you write down and put on the Initial D website.

Which kit did you have in mind? And, how much?

Ah,

Think I've changed my mind. Was going to get another N2 setup, but I decided that I'd just run my N1 with my non-net dimm in a vert cab, and then get a net-dimm for the N2 so I can play pretty much everything.

I see there's a fella in france selling a GD kit on eBay. Maybe next month.

P.S.

He also has Super Bishi-Bashi!!

It's like WarioWare. It's a bunch of puzzle games put together.
