dimm board not working

And I didn't touch the dip settings at all. The dimm didn't work from the moment I got it, it was black screen all the time.

And, correct me if I'm wrong, shouldn't the dimm give an error without the top board present, regardless of the dip settings?

Ok, well, I also tried fitting the dimm without the top board and it didn't gave an error 22... So it was not working!
