Sega-Naomi

hi guys i want to make an option for my machine to accept jamma connections. I have a naomi universal jvs system. My question is how would i go about it. Do i just bypass sega i/o board and solder the harness directly to the buttons and joysticks? also would i need another power supply. Has anyone done this ?
