Hello all!

Just got my Naomi delivered this morning but having a bit of a technical difficulty, I plugged it into the mains (with my ATX PSU and Naomi adaptor) but I'm not getting any power to it, does anyone have any ideas????

Hi

do you have verified on your atx supply or your atx>naomi connector if the PS-ON pin is linked to a ground ?

By the looks of it, it is linked to ground mate, Just cant get the unit to power on, is there a power switch on the Naomi somewhere?

Sorry, the Naomi does not have a power switch. However, most computer psu's do! After you make sure that the wiring is correct, make sure that the switch is on and that the psu is definitely working. :smt024

Hello all! Finally figured it out, my PSU is knackered! So I used a spare one I had in the attic and hey presto! All is good. it's a bit loud though aint it?

Need some games now and a jamma adaptor cos I ended up buying a 33" twin sit down Jamma machine last weekend!

A noisy Naomi usually means that the fan(s) is either dirty, old or broken (fan blades). Cleaning out all of the fans usually helps to quiet the noise, but if they are broken or rattling too much, then they should be replaced. This will also prevent the Naomi from overheating.:smt045

Yeah, but you have to admit that they're pretty loud even if they are in perfect working order. They're just fairly high-rpm fans.

I replaced my fans with ones that are much less noisy. Papst 612 something if I remeber correctly. Impossible to hear if the room isn't absolutely quiet and it moves almost as much air as the original according to the specs.

For home use the original fan is totally overkill unless you leave your cab on for days.

LOL, yeah just the fan is really noisy, it doesn't rattle or anything like that. Gotta find some games and a Jamma adaptor now!

Also how much is Virtua Fighter 3 (model 3) worth, with a Jamma adaptor?
