Does anyone own an Inital D cabinet with card reader????

Hi,



Does anyone own an Inital D cabinet with card reader????



I would like to know if new(unused) cards from inital d3 can be used with

initial d 1 or 2 or vice versa.....someone told me that even jap card

from the same inital d version can't be used with exoprt and usa version

and vice versa.....



I bought an intial d vers 1 cabinet with card reader some days ago and now I am wating for it......I am really excited....but I would like to use cards with it....I hope to find some cards inside of the dispenser!



I am truing to buy cards but I don't want to lose money for cards i can't use.



I alrady own an upgrede gd rom of Initial D ver 2 jap but I don't know If I will like the game in japanese......there are may options before start plaing!!

I think the cards from different versions are not interoperable. If you bring an Initial D1 card to a Initial D2 machine, it will say that you need to upgrade to a new card and ask if you want to transfer the information over.



The USA and JPN versions are identical in gameplay and only the menus/words/dialog is different (naturally Japanese).

I've used ID1,2,3 and Club Kart blank cards on ID just fine.



The only thing is where it printsout the data, might not match-up.



The cards are all 100%, just the graphics on the card.



When the data is first written the card is locked to a game.

ok, just one more info, how many driving games I can play just

changeing the game cart or gd rom?

And how many driving games I can play just changing the motherboard

(triforce or chihiro) and adding new buttons?

All Sega JVS games have the same pinout for the pedals/wheel (although games like 18wheeler use a different wheel type), so it is just a case of adding buttons for VRs and Shifter types.

I too am about to mount the card reader ... also exchange ideas and opinions on wiring and features ...



at the moment, my cab initial d3, is an upright exSafari ... everything inside is already up and running ... 'm using the card reader:) that should be pretty cool :smt006

If I have a card reader working 100%

and a naomi 2 running 100%



because it gives me error connection? exact cables tested on other naomi :smt017

I'm going a little off-topic, but can you post a picture showing the integration of your card reader in your cab ? I'd like to add mine to my Jambo! upright but I don't know where to stick it...

Thanks Pete, but I was talking about upright cabs, and ALLPRO has exactly the same setup as me (Jambo! Safari upright running Initial D).
