New Naomi GD rom owner stupid question corner

Post by OldFoo »

Okay, I've owned three Naomi units... including currently owning a Virtua Fighter Evo cart set. However, I've never owned the GD rom, and I'm confused as hell.

One. I can't get the security cart out. No problem, I read up on it and I just have to pull hard. That's fine.

Here's a hum dinger. How in the name of god do I get that stupid GD rom cover off? I removed a screw... now what? :(

Also, are all GD rom games (Naomi1) region locked?

Here's another... I plan to use this with a VGA monitor soon (just gotta buy the monitor), but for the time being, where do I connect the low res signal wires into? I have them, don't know where to plug them into the Naomi unit.

Okay, I'm answering my questions as I go. I figured out how to remove the GD rom and security carts. I say the hell with the low res, as I'll just hook it up to a VGA monitor to test it. I do need to purchase a volume, as it's about the only thing that didn't come with it. I have the wires that plug into the amp for it, but not the board with the knob itself. Just gotta try to hook this up to power now. Sorry for the spamming up of the boards. :(

We are sure willing to help you, but please also read up on Naomi basics to better understand the global technical stuff:

About the sound: If you will be running the Naomi outside of a Cab (on a monitor), you can just connect the audio out (CN4 connectors on Naomi: white and red jacks) to a standard amplifier. It is the same type of connection you use to connect a CD player to an amplifier.
