finished tested, done :)it works ,funny thing was tho,was when i went o change the dip on the gun board it was already set to 50.

obviously the hole gun grid dosnt have to be perfect to work.

improves the game a bit as well new tech with old.

Hi.

I installed a gun setup on my cab this week end, and I get some troubles when it comes to calibrating : the right and bottom settings are far from reality. When I point the gun on the right I get the SIG OUT message, so I have to move a little on the left to be able so set the parameter. I have the same problem with the bottom direction, but much more spread : I only have to point the gun down a little further than the middle of the screen and the SIG OUT message pops up.

Needless to say, playing the game gets very hard, even if I set the hit areas on bigger values.

All the sensors on the bezel seem to work as they are visible through the smoked glass when the power is on. Also notice that I don't have a special gun bezel, I drilled the holes myself and attached the sensors on a regular bezel. The loom that comes from the gun board is plugged on the second sensor on the bottom row, and every sensors are plugged in a counter-clockwise direction (don't really know if that matters). The gun setup is installed on an upright driver Naomi cab, and when I hold the guns I'm standing about 50~60cm behind the bench assembly.

Has anybody got troubles calibrating their setup ? I don't even know if the wiring of the sensors has to be in a certain way (ie start from the top or the bottom ? clockwise or counter-clockwise ?)

A picture of the dip switch on the gun board would be appreciated too, as I never noticed one before (I got a 838-13143-09 one) and this may be the solution.

Here is a picture of my current setup, for now the sensors are located on the outside :

could be on of 2 things sencor in the gun is wrong way around also you need to stand around a 1 meter away from the control panel other wise wont calibrate right as if to close its very jittery.

best games to test guns with are maze of kings and conf mission as they have fine tuning on start of game for guns. so as long as they are calibrated neer enought you can make final ajustments.

if the on the fine tune screen when you move gun right it goes left means that the sensor needs to be rotated in gun 180 degrees.

if your doing a 2 gun set up dont forget you need to be standing on the side of the cab that gun is for i did notice if your too close it dont like calibrating.

hope this helps just doing a copy of my quick set up loom for perplec so will be testing his guns and gun board later on in the week.

Thanks for the tips :)

I did some more tests tonight :

- first I inverted the way the sensors were wired (and the sensors themselves of course). Then I reseted the gun adjustement to default, and the game was somehow playable, but the problem was still here.

- I searched for the dipswitches on the gun board, and switched from 50 to 29 inches : the only effect was the X axis was inverted, so I switched back to 50.

- Moved the 2nd switch, which seems to toggle the axes from linear to non linear : useless in my case

- I finally tweaked the potentiometers on the gun board. When you turn them, the crosshair moves in a diagonal fashion, and by tweaking two of them I got rid of the biggest issue. The vertical axis is now fine, I'll do some more tweaking to get a perfect horizontal axis adjustement later.

Good night everyone !
