Anyway to get HOTD 2 to run on NAOMI 2
I have seperate naomi 1 mobo with the BIOS for HOTD2
If possible I would like this to run on NAOMI 2 with standard bios to have to keep from switching MOBO's
Also, will Crimson OX work with HOTD2 Bios and/or will it work on NAOMI2
any help appreciated
Thanks

Anyway to get HOTD2 to run on NAOMI 2 and Crimson OX
Hi Pete,
Thanks. At least I only need one dedicated MoBo for the two games.
Still kind of a pain to swap out mobo's just for two games, but Oh Well.
I'm guessing that once you put the HODT2 bios in that no other games will play outside of crimson OX and GDROM stuff won't work. I'm going to try when I get a chance but if you know off hand, much appreciated.
Again, thanks for the info

Only PCB you'll need as a seperate is HOTD2, Death Crimson OX will work on regular BIOS just fine..
HOTD2 has a different memory map sadly.

lucky git having HOTD 2
Thanks Everyone.
Yes, nice git having HODT2.
I will say my whole NAOMI shooter has been a been a labor of passion as it took a LONG time to get a Shooter in the US in a NAOMI universal Cab
1) Universal Cabs almost impossible to find in US
2) Then it need rewired with JPN looms
3) Then I need to source two NAOMI universal style gun monitor bezels from overseas
4) Then I had to buy IR sensors from parted out US woodys and fit the monitor bezels - englishman
5) Then I had to rewire and fit gun sense board
6) Then I had to get NAOMI type guns (about

7) THen I had to get MOK pahroh shells just for MOK
At then end I finally has a NAOMI style shooter.
Next I had to collect the games
1) Confidnetion Mission - Ebay
2) Maze of kings - Geezer I think
3) Lupin the shooting - Geezer
4) Crimson OX - YHJ via another sega-naomi member that helped me get it
5) Hotd2 andbios and dedicated MoBo - ebay
Then I had to get all the marquees and MOK topper
1) A couple of originals (Hotd2, MOK)
2) bespoke marqees for the rest from MCS
3) Originall MOK topper in additional to marquee (paid alot for a peice of cardboard)
At the end I have a NAOMI universal cab fitted with Gun Bezel, gun I/O board, IR sensors, rewired and fitted to play the NAOMI shooter listed above
About 1 year from start to finish to collect the parts, rewire, and get all of the issues worked out
And alot of help from the usual people here (Geezer, Josh, Pete, englishman, MCS, etc)
But in the end very happy

Still a little work to do to mount the connectors for easy connect / disconnect of the guns but almost there :smt020

Bit infamous when it comes to Sega shooters, having owned/still have a copy of one of each
VCop1,Vcop2, Vcop3
HOTD1,2,3,4
Lost World
Conf Mission
Lupin
Maze of Kings
2Spicy
Let's go jungle (not a gun game, but it works like one)
Rambo
Also had some that aren't Sega
Carnevil
Maximum Force
Police Trainer

Not really, you can sort of (and I am using that loosely) play with an analog x/y contol panel like for zombie revenge. See the following thread about 5/6 posts down
http://www.sega-naomi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=10439
Just for grins I hooked up my NAOMI Analog Panel and ran Confidential Mission
the output from Gun I/O board basically converts the gun signal to a analog X/Y output.
Using a analog panel. (Panel for Zombie Revenge)
The Analog Joysick positions the virtua gun position
Player one button two shoots. (Trigger)
Player one button three moves the gun off the screen. (F.out)
(Or you can move the gun off the screen using controller)
It's not too bad until you get to the gas room.
Also, you need to calibrate the Analog panel because the default gun settings will not even be close.
And then set everything to super big and super easy.
Even when you get it calibated as best you can it is off by 90 degrees.
But it does run and you can play it which gives a good understanding of the wiring needed and the mechanism on the SEGA Type II gun shooters.
You really need the following
Gun I/O board
IR sensor Array
Spare bezel to drill holes in to mount the array (or one already cut out)
Type 2 guns
Again, see the thread above about how I converted a standard NAOMI cab to a universal NAOMI shooter cabinet
(I have a spare grey bezel for sale for $75 + S/H if you decide to pursure and you do not want to drill holes in your existing bezel)
The gun parts (I/O board, sensor array, type 2 guns) show up on ebay once and a while, ussually from a parted out confidential mission cabinet in this part of the world (North America)
If you can pick up a 'dead' Confiential misson cabinet this would probably get you most of the parts you need. Then a little rewiring
