OK, Another week of work gone by. And Another Weekend. :smt020

More time for BoardMaster Project. :D

Onto NAOMI Power...

I've got...

NAOMI PS

NAOMI MB

Harneses

Isollation transformer.

Do I need the Isolation transformer or can I just hook up AC directly to power supply? :smt017

You can connect it directly to AC outlet. The isolation transformer is just a way of keep the AC cleaner by not conducting signal transients (certain types of line noise). If the connections you have connect the psu straight to the transformer, or something similar, it may be easier to connect it to the transformer. That is, if you don't mind cutting your wires. :smt109

Thanks Joshua,

Unfortunatly I would need to make harness to hook up Isolation transformer. :smt011

It will be plugged into Power Strip with Surge Protection and Filters.

(Hopefully that will clean up the power a little) :smt109

So I guess I'm just going to connect AC directly to power supply. :smt109

Makes it cleaner anyway. Just one less peices part to have in setup. :D

Thanks

Good news... I got my power worked out. :smt041

OK, Looks like the JVS i/o borad is going to need alot of custom wiring & looms in order to keep the switch functionality of the board master in tact and be able to swap out the oringinal BM panel. :smt010

So for a short interim solution I want to limit it to 2 player 6 button games.

(just use the Original Board Master Panel and JAMMA interface)

I want to use a NAOMI JAMMA converter instead of the JVS I/O board to get things moving.

I have this cable to connect the two (finger side plugs into Boardmaster and other side is standard JAMMA to plug into JAMMA CONVERTER)

Is there a fingerboard style convert I can use instead of the long cable supplied with boardmaster.

(The cable I have should work but too many wires - looking for something cleaner.)

(I want to have everything inside Boardmaster and just have USB cable coming out)

Any Idea on what type of connector is on board master

Looking for something like this but with the correct functionallity

Any help greatly appreciated.

BoardMaster Conversion COMPLETE :D

I didn't use the JVS I/O board. Too much rewiring. I used a JAMMA converter and the harness supplied w/ the Boarmaster.

Only one USB cable connecting the BoardMaster to the NAOMI :smt112

Now I can tuck the NAOMI away in a corner with my A/V equipment and get a 12-15 foot USB cable and play in the comfort of my living room w/ the projector, surround sound and a 12 foot screen. :smt020

What are all those buttons and outlets used for on the board master?

I think they are fuse holders & RGB adjusters, it also has video, s-vid & RGB out as standard.
