I'm close to finally getting an Universal Cabinet. So no 18 wheeler cabinet nonsense anymore.
But if the price is right in the future and the seller still hasn't gotten rid of the 18 Wheeler, it might be possible for me to get this as well. But it would be nice to have other games on it as well. Pretty much every other racing game was mentioned earlier, but how about King of Route 66? Are there other obstacles than putting a Naomi 2 in the cab, controlwise?
I came accross an 18 Wheeler setup and was to convert this game to run in a standard racing cab. The stuff I got included a JVS dedicated I/O board (837-13551-92) and I was able to use the existing pots for the steerring, gas and brake controls. The only thing optical was the horn control and that wire can simply be grounded with a switch or button to make it work. The volume adjustment in the test menu allows you to use any range pots so conversion seemed failry easy. Only thing is that I am running VGA direct on my WG D9200 Multisync monitor and it seems shadowed/blurry and I am not sure why. It was also very dim until I ground the audio board? I am new to NAOMI and am not sure if I could use JAMMA I/O converter to switch to RGB and get the inputs in JAMMA configuration? This might help my video problem? Do other NAOMI 1 driving games (Jambo Safari/Carzy Taxi, etc) use the dedicated I/O or JAMMA converters?
