That being said, all games have some kind of region coding just like DVD's. Some are coded 'Everywhere', some are locked to a specific region code. While some games have JPN only, I've never seen US only or UK only. So most games are pretty safe, but the more recent GGX games are JPN only.
thank you. :smt007
and brumma, chill out bro. ive got well over 5000 posts at ng.com (been around since 2001) and over 100 at kc. i just figured id ask here since its more centralized but instead i got some good answers and some shit.
the reason i was double checking about cvs pro was because the text on the gd is in english, and im not really familiar with the naomi region business. but joshua answered that fully.
Speaking of which, I just found out Chaos Field is JPN only. Not sure if someone can update that list.
I thought it'd be cool if that list would be as complete as possible, so I went through my games that weren't completely covered on the list. (though I know most of these aren't any breaking news). All were tested on a Naomi 2 with JPN and EXP bioses.
GD:
Virtua Fighter 4 Final Tuned - JPN yes / EXP yes
Guilty Gear XX Slash - JPN yes / EXP no
Musapey's Choco Marker - JPN yes / EXP yes
Beach Spikers - JPN yes / EXP yes
Virtua Athlete - JPN yes / EXP yes
ROM:
Virtua Striker 3 - JPN no / EXP yes
Giga Wing 2 - JPN yes / EXP yes
Virtua NBA - JPN yes / EXP yes
Power Stone - JPN yes / EXP yes
Heavy Metal Geomatrix - JPN yes / EXP yes
Guilty Gear X - JPN yes / EXP yes
Japanese language Musapey's Choco Marker a bit of a suprise there.
The compatibility list would be at it's best if it included brackets for the non-working regions as well. That way people can trust the info instead of wondering if a "JPN"-mark means it's a japan-only game or if it just hasn't been tested on USA and EXP.
