Tried the game again today with 2 different naomi 1 mobo's and it did the same jamma i/o error, tried the capcom vs snk game on the same 2 mobos and it worked no problem.....bizarre

is it anything to do with the VT being an older game or does it only work with a sega I/O and controls..is it because of the AWSD's controls are different in some way??

I can get to play half a game of tennis and then the error thing comes up..and the Cap vs SNK never does the error thing :smt017

Could it be a digital/analogue thing?

This situation goes back to an old post I made. CvS1 is a 2D game while VT is a 3D game. Games using 3D will use more power more of the time because of the extra processing power needed to render the images in real time. In comparison, 2D games are pre-rendered, hand drawn images that don't need much power. This should explain the discrepancy you are getting.

Oh i get you now, more juice is needed for the 3d rather than the 2d?I have had a naomi 2 gd rom set-up working with the I/O before i suppose i should try it again and see if the same thing happens using that, thanks for that ;)

Hey chop,

I am having the same exact problem with the same exact game, Virtua Tennis. I am able to play Powerstone without a problem for as long as I want, but when I put in VT it plays for a couple minutes then reverts to the same error you are getting.

After reading the other posts and Joshua's suggestion about 3D, I figured that it wasn't 2D vs. 3D because Powerstone is 3d. I tweaked the power supply a little, but I am still getting the same problem, it just seems to stay on a little longer before I get that same error.

Does anyone have any other suggestions or are we doomed to not be able to play VT with our Capcom I/O's? :smt010

Is anyone else able to play VT with just a Capcom I/O?

Thanks,

Jeff

Sorry for bringing this old thread back to life, but i'm experiencing the same thing. Sometimes i can play VT just fine other times i get the i/o error just a couple minutes into the game. Seems to work just fine with my other games. I'm thinking about trying a new usb cable because the one my unit came with looks really old and battered, but i'm sure thats probably not the problem, but it won't hurt. If anyone figures this out let me know, its definately bothersome and annoying.

Is it just Virtua Tennis? I mean it seems to work fine with all my other games, its just flakey with VT. Sometimes i can play an entire game or 2 and nothing happens, then i turn it off and back on later and 2 minutes in it does it again, io error. Seems odd that noone has come up with a solution in all this time. Oh well.
