Hey All....
Got a situation here where I took a monitor out of a Versus City cab and retro fitted it into a cocktail table (very cool looking!).
BUT, I've got it all to work properly with the exception of 2 wires that run along side the power wires (which I've successfull hooked up)
Upon tracing the original wires back on the Vs Cab...they appear to go to the
power supply...and connect under a fitting called "monitor." My guess is they are for the degauss....which makes sense as the colors on the screes are wonky.
So...is there any way up me wiring up my own degauss?
I've got things running now with just a switching power supply.
Any help appreciated!
Degauss Questions (I switched monitors)..now NO degauss!
Yeah dude - sure is =)
Assuming your new chassis is auto-degaussing, and your tube has a coil -
To wire up your own degaussing switch, just wire up a momentary SPST switch. Wire one of the wires to your AC line in, and wire the other one to the coil. (Either one of the wires from the 2-pin connector, connecting the coil to the HDB)
Have fun =) Note though, that sometimes shelf-mount monitors won't work correctly when used in cocktail mode. (Ran into this type of problem w/a WGD7700 before) I'm not really sure why that is, but if you have any other issues after wiring up the switch - talk to GrantSpain here on the boards, and if anyone can help you out further, it's him man.
Best of luck!
